About the event
On this very special evening, we will embark on a journey into one of the most fascinating and least known dimensions of Tuscan viticulture: the world of forgotten indigenous grape varieties.
We will taste extremely rare single-varietal wines made from grapes such as Pugnitello, Foglia Tonda, Colorino, Mammolo and others — varieties that had nearly disappeared from the vineyards and survived only thanks to the passion and determination of a handful of visionary winegrowers. These “viticultural guardians” have continued to cultivate them in tiny parcels, preserving a living heritage that carries centuries of Tuscan history, biodiversity and identity.
During the evening we will taste at least six wines (we always aim for more, although the rarity of these bottles in Belgium inevitably introduces a touch of adventure to the selection), each one offering a different expression of Tuscany’s hidden genetic treasure.
