Trainings: Wine Expert and Sommelier

Designed for wine enthusiasts, curious professionals, expats and anyone wishing to develop a deeper understanding of wine, the Wine Expert course (Basic and Advanced) combines structured learning with guided tastings in a friendly and international environment. The Sommelier course, alias the Wine Expert Pro training, focuses on the ability to serve properly, to crate and maintain a wine list, to store wine and manage the cellar. Every Training can be organized onsite for restaurants, hotels or wine shops and also as a 'intensive' course (combining the 7 sessions in three days).

What you will learn

Session 1 – How to Taste Wine with Method

Understanding visual, aromatic and palate analysis.

Session 2 – Winemaking Techniques and Styles

From white, rosé and red winemaking to lees ageing, maceration and fermentation choices.

Session 3 – Advanced Tasting

Developing sensory vocabulary and understanding acidity, tannins, alcohol, body, balance and persistence.

Session 4 – Wine Styles and Evolution

Young wines, age-worthy wines and understanding ageing potential.

Session 5 – Sparkling Wines

Champagne, Franciacorta, Alta Langa, Trentodoc, Cava, Crémant and Lambrusco.

Session 6 – World Wine Geography

Major wine regions, native and international grape varieties, and the influence of climate, soil and tradition.

Session 7 – Quality, Wine Selection and Emerging Trends + Exam

Reading labels, understanding appellations and exploring organic, biodynamic and dealcoholised wines.

Sommelier Training

Unlike the Wine Expert, a Sommelier needs additional skills. In order to be able to serve properly, to crate and maintain a wine list, to store wine and manage the cellar, a professional requires focused sessions. For this reason, after the Wine Expert and Wine Expert Advanced training, the Wine Pro is the course for professionals. This training can be arranged ad hoc, also as intensive course, for info contact us.
